BCKCA Regional Race Two in Chilliwack

BCKCA Regional Race two took place in Chilliwack on July 12th-14th.  Team Kacic attended the event with drivers Marcus Brodie, Jesse Keller, Danny Kacic and Team Kacic's newest team driver, T.J Shopa from Quesnel.   Davor Kacic and  Danny Kacic switched roles for the weekend with Davor acting as Team Coach and Mechanic while Danny Kacic represented the team by Driving in the Super Tag Class.

n the Jr. Tag Class Marcus Brodie completely dominated.  Marcus was consistently lapping over one second faster than that any other drivers in Jr. Tag.  Not only did Marcus win every heat for the weekend but he also had the fastest lap of the weekend, 51.40 seconds.   Marcus Brodie is now the 2008  Jr. TAG Regional  Champion.

T.J Shopa making his first trip to Cart B.C had an exciting battle for third place. T. J  went on to finish the final on Sunday in fourth.

On Saturday Danny Kacic Qualified his CRG/Rok TT on pole and went on to win the pre final.  Danny was disqualified from the pre final and had to start the final from last place. Danny Kacic went on to race his way through the field to take the win.

Jesse Keller finished first on Saturday in the Rok Cup class and took second on Sunday.  Keller's performance at Cart BC was exactly what  he needed to clinch the Regional Rok Cup Championship.

For the Sunday Super tag Race Danny once again qualified on Pole. In the Pre final Danny experienced a carburation problem.  Danny's motor abruptly stalled while leading, forcing  him to pull off to the side, allowing  the  field  to charge past him.  Danny spent several laps limping his kart around the track trying to tune the carb. Eventually Danny's motor cleared up and he was able to charge his way back through the field to finish in fifth, setting the fastest lap of the race.  Danny Kacic started the Final in fifth spot and started working his way to the front. Unfortunately Danny was not able to match his speed from the previous heat do to over working the tires in the pre final. Danny could do no better than third in the final.

BCKCA Regional Race One June 6-8 2008

BCKCA Regional Race One took place in Quesnel from June 6th-8th.  Team Kacic attended the event with drivers Marcus Brodie, Jesse Keller and Dave Saruk.  Because Davor Kacic was unable to attend, Danny Kacic joined the driver lineup for the weekend.  The weekend got off to a great start with Kacic, Keller, and Saruk taking 1, 2, and 3 in the Rok class, and Brodie taking 1st place in Junior TAG on Saturday.  On Sunday, Brodie started race two on pole position but lost the lead into turn one.  After stalking the leader for a number of laps, Brodie went for a pass to regain the lead in turn 10, unfortunately, he miscalculated the lack of grip on the inside of the turn and spun off the track, due to a clutch failure he was unable to rejoin the race and had to settle for a DNF.

Sunday's TAG race was the main event of the weekend, with all the drivers from the individual Leapard, Rotax, and Rok classes coming together to race as one large class.  Kacic  and Saruk switched to the Rok TT engine for the TAG main event.  Kacic's qualifying was cut short after only three laps when he drove into the dirt avoiding a stalled kart in turn two and was unable to continue, fortunately his first lap was still good enough to place him off pole, while Saruk qualified in 8th and Keller started in 15th.  In Race one Kacic gained the lead into turn one.  It was a close race with several lead changes but Kacic led the last quarter of the race to take the win.  In Race Two, Kacic led the entire race from pole position until the last corner of the last lap, where he ran into lap traffic, slowing him down.  This made the second place driver hit the back of Kacic, causing them both to lose momentum and allowing the third place driver to go around the outside with full momentum, unfortunately this resulted in contact with Kacic, causing him to spin across the straightaway and cross the finish line backwards through the grass for a heart-breaking third position.

Team Kacic's honorary member, T.J. Shopa, sporting his new Team Kacic shirt on the podium.  Thanks for your kind words in your interviews T.J....see you in Chilliwack!

Team Kacic Kicked of the 2008 Western Canadian Rok Cup with a step in the right direction. May 2-4 2008

Team Kacic had several drivers under the Team Kacic tent for round one of the Rok Cup.

In the Rok Masters Class Team Kacic had Bruce Campbell and newcomer Jason Boden. Bruce and Jason had a great battle for fifth position which eventually went to Bruce Campbell. Jason brought home his Team Kacic/CRG in sixth.

In Rok light, Team Kacic had Davor Kacic, Jesse Keller and Jonathan Rasiah. In practice Davor was an impressive fourth fastest . For qualifying Davor could not match his practice times and qualified a disappointing tenth. Jesse Keller posted the 13th fastest time and Jonathan qualified in nineteenth . In Race one Davor and Jesse both bettered their qualifying positions by finishing fifth and twelfth. In Race two Jesse once again finished in twelfth and Davor decided to gamble with his jetting, which unfortunately back fired and resulted in a drastic lack of power. Davor slipped from fourth to eventually finish in tenth.

Marcus Brodie performed well, as expected, and was quickest in the Jr. Rok class on Saturday in the wet conditions. When the track dried up, Marcus was in for a battle for qualifying. Marcus had the fastest lap until the last few minutes of qualifying.  Marcus was bumped from pole and had to settle for the second starting position. Race one was extremely close between The PCR team-mates and Marcus. The race ended with Marcus sandwiched between the PCRs in a very close second position. Race Two had much of the same as Marcus resumed his battle with the PCR team-mates. Off the start Marcus fell back to third but eventually passed for second position and was once again sandwiched between the PCRs to eventually finish in second.

Rok Cup World Finals in Italy October 11-14th 2007

Danny Kacic would like to thank everyone who made it possible for him to attend the world finals in Italy.  He would also like to thank everyone who prayed for his safety and kept up with the results online.  Unfortunately Danny did face quite a few challenges during the weekend.  He struggled in the practice sessions with a braking issue on Friday which led to a poor Qualifying time in the field of 96 international drivers.  In the First Qualifying Heat, Danny was unable to avoid a major collision on the second lap and although he escaped without injury, he did not finish the heat.  During the Second Qualifying Heat his braking issue continued and then his clutch broke and ended his weekend.  Danny is disappointed that he was not able to go any further but he is thankful to have had the opportunity to return to Italy and take part in such a world class event.  Danny will be re-joining the CRG Team in Las Vegas for the Stars of Karting Final October 17-21st,
